In investing, securities are financial assets that have some sort of monetary value. If you own a security, you might own stock, a bond, or even an option.
Example: Let’s say you’ve invested in securities and your portfolio is largely made up of stocks. This means that you, for each stock that you have, you own a little slice of that corporation.
