Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of onomy, an online education company that teaches you all the things you need to know in life, but never learned in school. Taxes, health insurance, investing for the first time, renting/buying a home, and lots more–all for free.
It wasn’t easy how we got here. Unfortunately, we (co-founders Sam Rowen & Sam Abrahamson) learned the hard way, just like millions of others.
How much more money could we have saved for retirement if we invested in a 401k at our first jobs? Could we have bought that car if we had started building credit earlier? How much easier could navigating the health care system be if we knew the difference between an HMO and a PPO?
We are not alone. These are real problems that young adults face every day. Why didn’t we learn this stuff in school?
Earlier this year, we teamed up when we saw these problems amplified more than ever as a result of a global pandemic. The world is changing, independence is being redefined, financial literacy and #adulting have never been more important, and people are being sent off into the world left to figure it all out on their own.
That’s why we started onomy. Because everyone needs to have this fundamental baseline knowledge to live their lives as an adult, and because we don’t want millions more to make the same mistakes we did.
Come check us out at onomy.co. Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be rolling out more and more content. And there’s a ton more on the way–please sign up so that we can let you know what’s coming!
